“I don’t even know where to begin. First of all, the vet that we were seeing in Mesquite was not as attentive, nor friendly enough to ask questions about our pet. We care and love our Westie as most owners do. We only want the best care for her.

Rockwall Vet says one cannot just take his eyes off hamster pups, as these teeny cute tiny creatures will sure have ones attention. Baby hamster are born without fur so are closely attached to their mother. Though you could have the desire to hold them, bare in mind that there’s nothing you can do inside two weeks time period following delivery.

REMEMBER TO NEVER TOUCH THE BABIES!! Your action could harm the babies and alter its scent therefore confuses the mother. She’s going to think that they’re not hers, abandon all of them and also worst she may even eat the babies (this did happened to my hamsters). Never to bring about any stress to the mother, stay away from cleaning up the cage through this period of time. It is advisable to position the babies in the bottom of the cage as none of them have opened their eyes yet.

After this two weeks ‘vital’ period, you can actually hold them however only for a brief period as not to disturb or perhaps stress the mother or babies. You may also clean up the cage and put fresh bedding in most of it. Take out just the soiled parts inside the nest area and place a good portion of the old bedding inside it. Put the babies within the nest immediately after it is cleaned up followed by the mother.

Once the babies eyes are opened (which should happen about the 11-12 days, although some take less/more), they ought to find out the way the bottle works. In order for them to reach it easily, place it lower as well as in a place where they will very often go. If they have not at all worked out just how to use the bottle and you are worried with regards to them not drinking sufficient, you may give them bits of cucumbers in order to stop dehydration. Do not put water in a dish to avoid them from falling in and drown or catch a cold.

From 3 weeks, you could separate the babies should you notice any kind of fighting amongst them but if they appear immature, less developed and not necessarily quite independent enough to leave mom at this time, let them stay together right up until there’re four weeks old. When they reach 5 weeks old, independent and have a healthy development, they could be placed in new homes and play within brand new surroundings and environment.
